Covid-19 Update for Nepal – 6 – Autumn 2021

We trust this message finds you very well. As the autumn season begins – it is a breath of fresh air after the heat and humidity of summer. The vaccination drive within the country is going very strong. All of staffs have been vaccinated and thankfully we have been blessed with good health. The covid-19 numbers have been dropping off in nepal and life is pretty much back to normal – with all things open within the country. With the seasonal change, there has been a welcome change in the visa/immigration process for visitors to Nepal. It is the most important update since the beginning of covid-19. One of the policy changes is to allow vaccinated travelers to visit Nepal without a quarantine. Kindly find below, the updated information for your reference.

For Fully vaccinated travelers:

Before travelling in Nepal:
1. Travelers are required to carry a PCR negative report taken 72 hours before boarding from origin country. A printed PCR negative report should be shown to the immigration officer in Kathmandu
2. Hotel booking confirmation – We shall email it to you. A printed copy should be shown to the immigration officer in Kathmandu.
3. Travelers are required to fill up the International Online Arrival Form available at CCMC website. https://ccmc.gov.np/arms/person_add_en.php
The submitted/printed copy of this form should be shown to the immigration officer in Kathmandu.
4. On arrival tourist visa facilities have resumed for fully vaccinated travelers. The visitor will have to provide proof of 2nd vaccination dose done prior to 14 days of arrival in Nepal. A printed vaccination certificate should be shown to the immigration officer in Kathmandu. (We still recommend to get the tourist visa in your own country, prior to travelling to Nepal)
5. Travelers are required to have proof of Travel Insurance which covers emergency search, rescue and treatment, among others, for the duration of their travel.

After arriving in Nepal:
6. Guests are required to take a mandatory Covid-19 test at the airport or hotel(Own expenses). If the test results are negative, travelers are allowed to continue with their program without quarantine. If the test results are positive, travelers will have to self-isolate at the hotel or undergo medical treatment.

For Partially or unvaccinated travelers:

Before travelling in Nepal:
1. Travelers are required to carry a PCR negative report taken 72 hours before boarding from origin country. A printed PCR negative report should be shown to the immigration officer in Kathmandu
2. Hotel booking confirmation – We shall email it to you. A printed copy should be shown to the immigration officer in Kathmandu.

The submitted & printed copy of this form should be shown to the immigration officer in Kathmandu.
4. Guests are required to obtain their Nepal Tourist visa in their origin country.
5. Travelers are required to have proof of Travel Insurance which covers emergency search, rescue and treatment, among others, for the duration of their travel.

After arriving in Nepal:
6. Guests are required to take a mandatory 10 days quarantine at the Govt. designated hotel in Kathmandu. On the 10th day, the guest will have to undergo a Covid-19 test(Own expenses). If the test results are negative, travelers are allowed to continue with their program. If the test results are positive, travelers will have to self-isolate or undergo medical treatment.
