Everest Foothills Trek – 11 Days
The Everest region is the favorite trekking region, amongst trekkers the world over. Besides being one of the highest treks in the world, it also caters to a bigger picture of flora and fauna at an elevation. The mountains seen on this trek are majestic with 8000-meter peaks soaring above all else.
We start the trip by flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and start to walk further into the mountains. Phakding is the first stop after Lukla, the next day we head towards Namchebazar, and after that, the other villages of the himalayas. The villages which we come across in the trek are as beautiful as the panoramic view of the mountains.
Everything here moves on a higher plane, and you can’t quite say you’ve been trekking in Nepal until you’ve gazed upon the dark cone of Everest (8848m) and its majestic companions Cho Oyu (8188m), Lhotse (8516m) and the jewel of the Khumbu, Ama Dablam (6812m).

This morning, we shall fly from Kathmandu to the tiny airstrip of Lukla (2,744m), built by Sir Edmund Hillary and the Sherpas. The flight itself is awe inspiring. Once landed, we shall have a short rest, while our equipment is sorted and loaded. Gather up with your other team members & begin your adventure into the footsteps of famous mountaineers & adventurers. You will be passing by lovely Sherpa settlements, along gentle undulating trails and enjoying the marvellous scenery of the Dudh Kosi valley. Along the way, the sounds of plodding porters with transistor radios stuck to their ears, the cacophonic mix of myriad languages, strange sounding birds, the sight of porters, loads aside, resting outside tea houses, weather-beaten, windblown trekkers winding their way back to Lukla, prayer flag a-flutter, the brightly painted tea houses and of course the dramatic scenery are memories to treasure of this first day on the trail. Slowly, but surely you will arrive at the village of Phakding, which lies on the banks of the Dudh Kosi. It is a small but picturesque village in the foothills of the Himalayas. (3-4hrs walk) Lodge - Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today, you will be walking along the Dudh Kosi Valley. At monjo, you shall enter the Everest National Park, where entry formalities will have to be completed. Today will be one of the tougher days of the trip, but we take it slowly, enjoying the scenery as you climb slowly up to Namche Bazar. Tengboche is reputed to be one of the most beautiful spot in the Himalayas with an outstanding monastery and a spectacular panorama of Everest, Lhotse (8616m, world’s 4th highest).
