The Sherpa’s are known through out the world as the conquerors of the Himalayas. Visit the villages, which have given birth to these incredible mountain climbers. Steeped in history and mysticism, Khumbu will remind a visitor of the Shangrila. The high mountains are a spectacle which you will never forget. Mt Everest, Khumbila, Ama Dablam, Lhotse are some of the mountains that you can see. Along the trails, beasts known as Yaks can be seen carrying goods to the high mountain villages.
|Day 01:||Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. Trek to Phakding
We fly from KATHMANDU to the tiny airstrip at LUKLA (2,744m), built by Sir Edmund Hillary and the Sherpas. The flight itself is awe inspiring. Once landed, we have lunch while our equipment is sorted and loaded. We then take a walk to PHAKDING and camp.
|Day 02:||Trek to Namche
This is a busy trail with a plenty of human interest. There are views of Everest (8,850m), Nuptse (7,927m), and Lhotse (8,434m). We travel through beautiful pine forest and finally camp right in the heart of the village.
|Day 03:||Namche â€“ Rest
Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar (3,445m): We enjoy a rest day here to allow for maximum acclimatization on our way to Everest Base Camp. A pleasant day can be spent exploring the incredible scenery.
|Day 04:||Trek to Tengboche
We walk a very pleasant trail under the soaring peak of Thamserku and steadily descend to the Imja Khola and lunch at Phunki Tenga, where there are a series of water driven prayer wheels. In the afternoon, we climb steadily for about 2 hours to the Monastery and the views and magnificent. The Monastery is literally surrounded by mountains, yaks graze on the small meadow and the monks drone their prayers. Surely, one of the breathtaking spots in the world.
|Day 05:||Trek to Khumjung
The trek back to khumjung is the same route which is a descend and a gradual ascend as we pass the fir forest and the mountains over our shoulder. We then arrive at Khumjung, probably one of the best village of Khumbu region. The attractions in Khumjung are Hillary school established by Sir Edmund Hillary, the twin village Khunde and a view of Yeti’s scalp at the local monastry.
|Day 06:||Trek to Monjo
Trek back to Monjo passing the same route and crossing Namche Bazar.
|Day 07:||Trek to Lukla|
|Day 08:||Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu|
